Larry Wilson was a 7th round pick in 1960 so if we going to talk about best picks ever....also Thomas Jones failed on two teams before finding himself with the Bears so lets not be so quick to say we let a star get away. He was so bad in Tampa that they let him go to FA without even making an offer.

How much are you getting paid to be the Cardinals resident apologist?

The Bidwills are well known for their mismanagement of the draft and free agency. One of the extra first round picks they got for Dave Butz they used to draft a kicker!

It doesn't matter really how guys did after they left the Cards the fact is they left and the team didn't get the production from them they should have from a top draft choice. Oh and by the way Jones averaged 4.6 yards per carry for Tampa a team not exactly known for its offensive acuity.

Larry Wilson was the 43rd player selected in the 1960 draft which would make him the equivalent of a mid 2nd round pick.

Donnie Anderson also wasn't an integral part of any Cardinal playoff team. He only had 90 carries and 15 receptions in 1974. Jim Otis was the complement to Metcalf not Anderson. The Cards didn't make the playoffs in 1973.
