I have been reading the teams aren't that liquid right now. If you want to play for a contender, it's probably going to be one of those one year vet minimum deals. Unless some bottom feeder teams want to throw money his way.![]()

I wonder what team would want a guy with superior physical skills, that refuses to make his skills better? That's kinda how I see him being.
On Thursday, Torre reported that Dennis J. Wong, a Clippers limited partner, invested $1.99 million in Aspiration nine days before the company made a $1.75 million payment to Leonard. The payment to Leonard was late, according to the payment schedule, as the company was reportedly having financial troubles before ultimately declaring bankruptcy.
Yeah they’re cheating. Just wallop them.Gets worse and worse looking for LAC: https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/46224875/report-kawhi-leonard-paid-clippers-partner-investment
Here’s the problem with taking away five first round picks and fining/suspending Balmer for a season or two and voiding Kawai’s contract. You know who gets screwed the most in that situation? The fans. They did nothing wrong and shouldn’t have to bear the brunt of the losses for the sins of the owner/player here.
This is cheating to a massive degree on part of player and owner tho. So Strip him of the team and ban him from buying another team for five years. Suspend Kawai for a season. Call it a day.
Although I agree, why was nothing done when all those reports came out about Toronto doing something similar with Kawhi?Disagree. The punishment should be ruinous. Balmer gone for life, years of picks gone, Leonard's contract gone...
Anything less and you just invite more innovation in cheating.
I get it that the fans get screwed, but IMO, you've got to make it exceptionally brutal to the billionaire owner to prevent this kind of behavior and part of that punishment is crippling the franchise.
That's the first I've heard of this. What I've read is that Kawhi, or more accurately, Uncle Dennis, sought after a bunch of ludicrous stipulations from the Raptors as a FA and Toronto essentially said we can't do this as it's against the rules.Although I agree, why was nothing done when all those reports came out about Toronto doing something similar with Kawhi?
A new report from Bruce Arthur of the Toronto Star says that when Leonard was a free agent in 2019, his uncle and manager Dennis Robertson — commonly referred to in league circles as Uncle Dennis — asked the Raptors for no-show endorsement deals at that time. As has been previously documented (and investigated by the league at the time), Uncle Dennis asked for a lot of things during that free agency.
The fans of other teams get cheated, too. I remember when it came out the Niners had violated the salary cap, which helped them win Super Bowls, and they gave them hand slaps for it. The teams that played in those Super Bowls, their fans felt REALLY cheated.
