Crazy Bronny James update:

After scoring 17 points, recording five assists, and shooting 70% from the floor, James became the youngest Los Angeles rookie to reach those numbers since Magic Johnson all the way back in 1979.

Wasn't expecting too much from the new look Lakers. I love having Luka for the future, but in the short term they will suffer without any dominating force on defense. AD when healthy was amazing this year, but even after the trade he couldn't stay on the court for the Mavs. Clearly the Lakers knew they needed a solid center when they tried to trade Dalton Knecht for Mark Williams. Most of us Lakers fans were heartbroken to see the potential in Knecht traded away but we knew it was to make the team better defensively. It will be interesting to see what pieces they are willing to move to get a presence in the key.

The Lakers will be fine.

They will keep adding players around Luka and Lebron until he retires or decides to be traded.

Then, they will have a huge chunk of money to add another star.

That game was over before it started. No adjustments by JJ. Played a small lineup nearly the entire game. Left a healthy enough to play Jackson Hayes sitting on the bench. Played a guy who hadn't played since January. Never worked a shooter like Knecht into the games at all. The games glaringly showed the need for a big. But as Chris Canty said this morning, "A big only matters if the coach will play him." JJ was great in the regular season but definitely shrank in the playoffs.

Oh well, here's to next season and a bright future with Luka on the team for years to come.

I can’t help thinking they either asked LeBron what they should do, or didn’t ask LeBron what they should do.
I think they asked him because at the time he and JJ ran a podcast together. I'll be glad when Lebron is gone. He's been here 7 seasons, and we have had 4 coaches during his time here: Luke Walton, Frank Vogel, Darvin Ham, and JJ Redick. Not great for stability.

Hopefully, JJ can settle down, learn to make adjustments, etc. He was a decent player and has a good sense of the game, but he is stubborn and emotional.
