they run a pretty serious risk of atlanta or maybe even vegas trading ahead of them. so they have to offer enough to make their deal the one that is accepted.A trade down to #6 would make perfect sense if Harrison Jr. is gone. Wouldn't surprise me if Ossenfort works out conditional terms in advance and pulls the trigger if Harrison is off the board.
The Giants know the Cardinals and Chargers won't be taking a QB, so they could just wait for McCarthy at #6 - but then, they risk another team jumping them, so why not give up a little just to be sure. I wouldn't expect much, though.
dont think Monti will make a deal in advance though...a lot changes when teams are sitting there watching the guys they covet start to disappear..a team with no plans to trade up today could decide to do so on draft day
