In the Texas women's basketball program, Madison Booker now stands alone.
On Wednesday, Booker was named to the first team of the Associated Press' All-American team. A second-team honoree as a freshman and a first-team pick last year, Booker becomes the first Longhorn to earn a spot on one of the AP All-American teams during three different seasons.
The AP first named All-Americans during the 1994-95 season.

A 6-foot-1 junior forward, Booker is averaging 18.9 points, 6.5 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game this season while shooting 51.7% from the field. Booker had put together six double-double performances and she became the fifth Longhorn to record a triple-double during a 110-45 win at UTRGV in December. The Most Valuable Player of this month's SEC Tournament, Booker scored a career-high 31 points during a semifinal win over Ole Miss on March 7.

That on-court effort led to 17 first-place votes from the AP's 31 voters. With 127, Booker gathered the fourth-most points and distanced herself from Notre Dame guard Hannah Hidalgo's second team-high of 116 points.
Booker was joined on the first team by UConn teammates Sarah Strong and Azzi Fudd, UCLA center Lauren Betts and Vanderbilt guard Mikayla Blakes. Back in October, Betts, Booker and Strong were among the AP's five preseason All-Americans.

Booker wasn't the only Longhorn who was recognized by the AP this week. Fifth-year point guard Rori Harmon earned an honorable mention on the All-American team. This is the fourth time in Harmon's career that she has received an honorable mention from the AP.

Harmon is averaging 8.4 points and 6.2 assists per game. This season, she became UT's all-time leader in assists and steals.
With Booker and Harmon leading the way, Texas has gone 31-3 and secured a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament. The Longhorns will open their tournament run at Moody Center on Friday afternoon.
