The first game of the 2026 season for the Texas baseball program is set for Friday evening at UFCU Disch-Falk Field.

In their first action in 257 days, the Longhorns will host UC Davis in the opener of a three-game series. Texas is coming off a 44-14 season in which it won a regular-season championship in the Southeastern Conference but was later upset in an NCAA regional. That early exit from the NCAA Tournament extended the Longhorns' College World Series drought to three seasons.

More:Jim Schlossnagle is asking Texas baseball offense to change in 2026. Here's how

Under second-year coach Jim Schlossnagle, UT returns several key contributors from last year's team. Texas also filled in the holes on its roster with 10 transfers and one of the country's top freshman classes.

The first test for the Longhorns? A UC Davis team that went 27-28 last season. The Aggies are coached by former Texas infielder Tommy Nicholson.
