COLLEGE STATION — A rivalry will resume Friday at Blue Bell Park when Texas baseball opens its SEC series against Texas A&M.

Texas and Texas A&M are currently No. 2 and No. 18 in the D1Baseball rankings. The second-place Longhorns (27-5, 9-3) and fourth-place Aggies (25-7, 7-5) are also separated by just two games in the SEC standings.

This will be the 380th baseball game in the Lone Star Showdown series, but tonight will add a new wrinkle to this rivalry. This is Jim Schlossnagle's first game in College Station since he left the Aggies to coach the Longhorns after the 2024 season. Schlossnagle led Texas A&M's program from 2022-24.
