Want to know the top softball teams in the nation? Just look at the SEC standings
Texas softball (41-6, 13-5) is locked in a tight race for the regular-season SEC title with Texas A&M (39-6, 13-4), Oklahoma (39-5, 13-5) and Tennessee (37-9, 12-6). Not coincidentally, all four of those teams enter this week atop the national polls.

The Longhorns moved up one spot from No. 3 to No. 2 in the National Fastpitch Coaches Association poll and stayed at No. 3 in the ESPN/ USA Softball poll following their dramatic series win over LSU this past weekend at McCombs Field.
The SEC gauntlet continues this weekend for Texas with a visit to Oklahoma, which has won four consecutive national titles.
Here's how top softball polls shake out this week:
In the National Fastpitch Coaches Association poll, Texas claimed five of the 31 first-place votes while garnering 731 points. Texas A&M (16 first-place votes, 749 points) remains atop the poll while Oklahoma (714 points) drop from No. 2 to No. 3 despite sweeping No. 17 Mississippi State.

In the ESPN/USA Softball poll, Texas picked up one first-place vote while ranking third with 580 points. Tennessee (16 first-place votes, 610 points) leapfrogged No. 2 Texas A&M (eight, 597) for the top spot after the Aggies dropped a game at unranked Missouri Sunday.
