Austin Goosby, the centerpiece of Texas basketball's 2026 recruiting class, was named Monday to the McDonald’s All-American team.
Goosby, a 6-foot-5 guard from the Dallas suburb of Melissa, is ranked by 247Sports' composite ratings as the No. 19 overall prospect for his class in the nation. He headlines a four-player 2026 class that also includes of Bo Ogden from Austin’s Westlake High School, Joe Sterling from Los Angeles and Austin native Coleman Elkins, who played at St. Andrew’s before spending this season at Blair Academy in New Jersey. The 2026 recruiting class for Texas currently ranks No. 7 in the nation.
Goosby is the 25th player to sign a letter of intent with the Texas men's program and get selected to the McDonald's All-American Game. That list includes the Longhorns’ last McDonald’s All-American in Tre Johnson, a guard in the 2024 class who currently ranks sixth in the NBA among rookies with 12.9 points a game for the Washington Wizards.

The younger brother of Texas football player Trevor Goosby, Austin Goosby currently averages 17.0 points, 4.8 rebounds and 3.2 assists for Dynamic Prep in Irving. Last season, Goosby posted 24.1 points and 7.1 rebounds per game while leading Melissa to the state playoffs.
The McDonald's All-American Game is an annual high school basketball event that features the top senior prospects in the country. The 2026 boys' and girls' games are scheduled to be played on March 31 at Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale, Ariz.
