After having just one scholarship player on the roster when he was named the new head coach of Texas A&M basketball, Bucky McMillan has his team competing against Saint Mary's in the first round of March Madness on Thursday night.
Through the highs and lows of this year's campaign, the Aggies have produced one of the most prolific scoring offenses in college basketball, ranked No. 9 in points per game entering the NCAA Tournament. Texas A&M's kryptonite has been its ability to attack the glass, which is one of the Gaels' best attributes.
The Aggies have a massive test in front of them to advance to the round of 32 for the third consecutive season, but 'Bucky Ball' has performed outstandingly in its debut campaign in Bryan-College Station. The explosive, high-octane offense could cause some trouble for Saint Mary's, which has struggled to prevent elite 3-point-shooting teams at times this year.
Follow along with live updates, score, and highlights below, as No. 10 Texas A&M takes on No. 7 Saint Mary's in the first round of the NCAA Tournament in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma:
The Texas A&M vs. Saint Mary's game will be broadcast nationally on TruTV. Brandon Gaudin, Chris Webber and Andy Katz will be on the call inside the Paycom Center. Streaming options for the game include Sling TV.
