The first name to watch for in the 2026 NFL Draft has been revealed for the Houston Texans.

According to KPRC 2 Sports' Aaron Wilson, the Texans plan to host AlabamaAll-American offensive tackle Kadyn Proctor for a top 30 visit ahead of the draft. Proctor has been considered one of several options Houston could draft at pick No. 28 when on the clock in the first round come April.

At 6-foot-7 and weighing in at 352 pounds, Proctor is one of the biggest linemen in this year's class. That doesn't make him slow. In fact, Proctor tested well at the combine last month, posting a 5.21 40-time, a 32.5-inch vertical jump, and a 9-foot-1 broad jump.

He also bench pressed 225 pounds 25 times.

“Anything around 355 (pounds) right now, that feels really good to me,” Proctor told reporters at the NFL Scouting Combine. “That’s where I’ve been in this from midseason to through last season. Obviously, being 365, 370 isn’t a good weight for me to play at, so I figured that and understood that. But if any team gives me a weight, then I can go down and achieve that.”

A three-year starter at left tackle for the Crimson Tide under Nick Saban and Kalen DeBoer, Proctor's arrival would likely serve as a telling sign that the Texans have found their long-term answer on the offensive line opposite breakout rookie Aireontae Ersery on the blind side. Finding a home is key for Proctor, since some scout believe he's best suited as a guard while others think he could play right tackle.

In pass protection, he's considered one of the top blockers. Last season, Proctor struggled against Florida State, allowing eight pressures in the loss. Ever since then, he became a stalwart at left tackle, helping the Crimson Tide make the SEC Championship game and the College Football Playoff.

“I’m going against the top guys week in and week out,” Proctor said. “That’s really the thing that I see the most, we do the academic side. Everything they did, they showed me love and I’m blessed to have a lot of those people in my life.”

The Texans own eight picks in the upcoming NFL Draft, including four in the top 70 selections.
