The NFL world is still in shock over the news of Terrion Arnold being arrested and charged with eight felonies, which include four counts of armed robbery and four counts of kidnapping.
The question that everyone seems to be asking is, "What? What were you thinking?
Arnold and his friends were robbed of $250,000 in merchandise, including, according to him, $100,000.
But here comes the weird part: instead of letting the police do their investigation, Arnold decided to go after the perpetrators himself, a big mistake.
Now, he faces life in prison if convicted of these charges, which brings us back to the point: what was he thinking? While at Alabama, Arnold wasn't known as a troublemaker, and in fact, he was Terry Saban's favorite player.
This is not a troublemaker, or he doesn't appear to be, but this proves that one dumb mistake could cost him everything. Hanging around the wrong people and carrying lots of money could lead to situations like this.
Just ask Henry Ruggs. Ruggs had a promising career coming out of Alabama as well, but destroyed it when he accidentally killed someone while driving drunk. He was sentenced to 10 years in prison, and Arnold faces life in prison, all because of one ill-fated night.
The lesson to be learned here is that money should change your circumstances, but it shouldn't change you.
