Terrell Owens has criticised the Pro Football Hall of Fame after the organisation issued a warning to its voting committee following Bill Belichick’s first ballot snub.

Terrell Owens reacted publicly after Bill Belichick failed to receive enough votes for first ballot induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

The comments came after the Hall of Fame addressed potential violations of its selection bylaws during Belichick’s consideration.

The Pro Football Hall of Fame issued a warning stating that committee members could face consequences if bylaws were violated.

The statement followed confusion and backlash surrounding Bill Belichick not being named a first ballot Hall of Famer.

“If it is determined that any member(s) violated the selection process bylaws, they understand action will be taken.”

Shortly after the statement was released, Terrell Owens revisited his own Hall of Fame experience.

Terrell Owens questioned why similar action was not taken when he was repeatedly passed over for induction.

Owens was first eligible for the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2016 and again fell short of induction in 2017, before finally being approved in 2018, despite his stellar resume.

“Hey [Pro Football Hall of Fame], WHERE THE HELL was this when they violated these bylaws when it came to me in 2016 and 2017???!!!!”

Owens was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2018 but declined to attend the official ceremony. He instead received his Hall of Fame ring and bust at Levi’s Stadium during the 2018 NFL season.
