Los Angeles Dodgers left fielder Teoscar Hernandez was grabbing his hamstring after running to first base in the bottom of the second inning vs. the Colorado Rockies on Wednesday.
Hernandez hit a ground ball in between first and second base, and seeing that it was a bit of a complicated play, he ran out the play to try and get on base.
However, upon stepping on the base, he came up limping and grabbed his left hamstring.
After getting into the dugout, the Dominican outfielder slammed his helmet and entered the clubhouse immediately.

For the top of the third inning, Hyeseong Kim entered at left field, replacing Hernandez, who was officially ruled out with left hamstring strain.
Kim will get a chance to see whether Hernandez ends up missing time on the injured list. He can play all over the field and has the ability and glove to fill in anywhere.
Especially with **** Hernandez also injured, Kim will get a chance to fight for more playing time and prove he deserves more consideration.
Teoscar Hernandez’s key role in 2026
As a slugging righty, Teoscar offers a ton of power at the plate. He had a down year in 2025, but after losing a lot of weight and training hard over the winter, Hernandez has come into 2026 looking like a new man.
He was hitting .278/.350/.439 with seven home runs and eight doubles, along with 31 RBIs and even two stolen bases.
Rather than getting too jumpy at the plate, Mr. Sunflower Seeds has been patient and picked his moments.
In 2025, he had just 26 walks in 134 games, but in 2026, he already has 19 in 50 games.
With him trusting his swing and the plate approach returning to form, Hernandez has once again become a perfect bat to complement the stars.
However, the Dodgers are now left to cope without him and to generate consistent offense without someone who has been among their best hitters amid an up-and-down hitting period.
Kim, along with Alex Call, will be the immediate options, but with a ton of talent in the farm system’s outfield, a prospect could enter the picture if Teo misses time.
