It's the day after the final game of the NFL's regular season, and news is spewing out of a volcano. Coaches are being fired, and, in the case of the Tennessee Titans, their search for a new head coach has begun.

For their first order of business, the Titans have requested to interview Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Matt Nagy.

Prior to coming to Tennessee, Mike Borgonzi spent 15 years with the Chiefs' organization in varying roles. Nagy joined the Chiefs in 2013 as a quarterbacks coach and was promoted to offensive coordinator in 2016. He left the organization for a few years while serving as head coach of the Chicago Bears, but he returned to the Chiefs after his stint in Chicago.

Borgonzi and Nagy are quite familiar with each other and how the other operates. The Chiefs were wildly successful over the last 10 years, and both of them were there for it. Nagy fits the bill almost to a T for what the Titans are looking for. He has prior head-coaching experience, and he will have a plan for Cam Ward after working with Patrick Mahomes.

At this time, no interview has been scheduled; the Titans have merely requested one.
