The 2025 NFL draft is mere days away, and while every team is finalizing their respective boards, media analysts and NFL insiders are doing their best to predict which players each team will draft.
ESPN's Jordan Reid is the latest to release a full seven-round mock draft, and it's no surprise who the Tennessee Titans draft first. After that, though, it's all speculation, so let's dive into Reid's predictions.
The only thing the league is missing for that first pick is to make it official. The Titans are going to select Cam Ward with that pick. Even though they say they're open to offers, it's incredibly unlikely that they trade that pick. If they do, the cost is going to be steep and will have to include a veteran quarterback.
With that out of the way, the rest of the Titans' picks are speculative. For example, the idea that the Titans will draft a wide receiver in the second round and wait until the fourth for an edge rusher is almost preposterous. Edge is a much higher need for the Titans than receiver, but Mike Borgonzi is a new GM and might see the need for more receivers for his rookie quarterback as bigger than the need for an edge rusher.
There is no doubt that receivers will be drafted, but to have just three of the eight picks used on defensive players, none of whom add depth to the secondary, feels incorrect. The Titans will most likely add depth to the secondary with at least one pick, maybe two, and less likely that they'll draft a tight end or running back. Not out of the question, obviously.
Once the draft is over, the real work begins. Mike Borgonzi and Chad Brinker's job is to bring in the best players at the positions they need. Brian Callahan's job is to field the best possible team he can with the pieces he has.
What the Titans do after the draft is every bit as important as what they do leading up to it, and in a couple of days, we'll find out just how good Borgonzi is going to be as a general manager.
