Tennessee softball opens the SEC Tournament against Ole Miss, which handed the Lady Vols one of their two series losses in SEC play.
The No. 5 seed Lady Vols (42-9) face the No. 13 seed Rebels (33-23) in the second round at John Cropp Stadium in Lexington, Kentucky, on May 6 (5 p.m. ET, SEC Network).
Tennessee finished 16-8 in SEC play in a three-way tie for fourth with Texas and Texas A&M. Ole Miss finished 13th in the league at 6-18, but it won two straight series over Auburn and Mississippi State to end the regular season.
The Lady Vols lost the first two games of the series to Ole Miss at home in March, losing 2-1 in both contests. Tennessee beat the Rebels 4-3 in Game 3 to avoid getting swept.
