No. 1 Tennessee (23-0, 3-0 SEC) softball is ranked No. 1 for a fourth consecutive week in the NFCA/GoRout Division I Top 25 Coaches Poll.
Last week, the Lady Vols opened SEC play with a three-game series sweep against LSU at Sherri Parker Lee Stadium.
After a win in the series finale, Tennessee tied its second-best start to a softball season in program history. The Lady Vols also started their 2007 campaign 23-0. Tennessee’s best start to open a season is 24-0 in 2006.
Tennessee will next play in the Midstate Classic versus Austin Peay on Tuesday. First pitch between the Lady Vols and Governors is slated for 6:30 p.m. EDT at Ridley Sports Complex in Columbia, Tennessee.
Tennessee will also play at Lipscomb on Wednesday. First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m. EDT at Draper Diamond in Nashville, Tennessee.
The Lady Vols will conclude their week with a three-game SEC series at Mississippi State.
