The Tennessee Volunteers, led by head coach Rick Barnes, have largely been considered one of the top college basketball programs in the country for years.

Barnes recently led Tennessee to the Elite Eight, having suffered a loss to Houston, the national championship runners-up.

Before falling to the Cougars, Tennessee defeated Wofford, UCLA and Kentucky.

As Barnes and the Volunteers attempted to climb back to the top of the SEC and make another run in the NCAA Tournament, a key coaching staff member departed the program.

Rod Clark, a key recruiting member of the staff, left Tennessee for a role on the Indiana Hoosiers' staff soon after the season.

On Friday, the Tennessee Volunteers announced the addition of Amorrow Morgan, seemingly taking over the role of Clark.

Upon the release of the news, Barnes spoke about the addition of Morgan to his staff, seemingly excited to welcome the Memphis native.

"I am thrilled to welcome Amorrow to Rocky Top. As soon as we knew we had a decision to make, it was immediately clear Amorrow would be our first choice," Barnes said. "He is a young, energetic coach with a sharp basketball mind who will make an impact with our program from day one. I know he will do all he can to help our players excel and that he will mesh with the strong culture we have in place."

Morgan has spent the last two seasons with the California Golden Bears.

The former Cal assistant spoke on the opportunity to join Rick Barnes and the Tennessee Volunteers staff, expressing his excitement to continue his career in the SEC.

"Coach Barnes has built something truly special on Rocky Top. Tennessee basketball is a program rooted in tradition and rising with purpose," Morgan said. "I'm incredibly grateful for the opportunity to return to my home state and look forward to contributing however I can to the continued success of Volunteer basketball. I cannot wait to start and get to work with our guys. Go Big Orange."
