The NFL draft will take place April 24-26 at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
Several former Vols, including James Pearce Jr., Dont'e Thornton Jr., Dylan Sampson, Omarr Norman-Lott and Cooper Mays are prospects in the 2025 NFL draft.
Tennessee had three players selected in the 2024 NFL draft: Jaylen Wright to Miami (No. 120 overall) in the fourth round, Joe Milton III to New England (No. 193 overall) in the sixth round and Kamal Hadden to Kansas City (No. 211) in the sixth round.
CBS Sports analyst Josh Edwards released an updated seven-round mock draft Friday. Five former Tennessee players are in Edwards' mock draft and are listed below.
Edwards projects Pearce Jr. to miss the first round and fall to the Titans at No. 35 overall in the second round.
The Titans have other urgent needs in the first round, but Pearce Jr.'s path to the field could be quicker since Tennessee is experimenting with older free agents in Lorenzo Carter and Dre'Mont Jones.
Edwards forecasts Sampson to be selected at No. 79 overall in the third round by the Texans.
Joe Mixon is Houston's starting running back. Sampson's biggest competition for playing time behind Mixon would be fourth-year veteran Dameon Pierce.
Norman-Lott is another former Vol projected by Edwards in the third round (No. 92 overall) to the Seahawks.
Byron Murphy II and Jarran Reed are Seattle's returning starters at defensive tackle. Norman-Lott and free agent signee Quinton Bohanna would serve as rotational players.
Thornton Jr. is projected in the sixth round to the Raiders at No. 213 overall.
Edwards also projects Las Vegas to select Emeka Egbuka in the second round. The Raiders' other productive wide receivers in 2024 were Tre Tucker and Jakobi Meyers.
Simmons is projected as the last pick in the 2025 NFL draft. He is projected to Kansas City as Mr. Irrelevant at No. 257 overall.
