Tennessee baseball is heading to Jacksonville, Florida, as part of its 2027 nonconference schedule.
The Vols announced that they will be part of the four-team Live Like Lou Jax College Baseball Classic from Feb. 26-28 at Vystar Ballpark, home of the Triple-A Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp. Cincinnati, Georgia Tech and Illinois make up the rest of the field, and all four teams will play each other in a three-game round robin format.
The schedule and game times for the tournament will be announced later.
The 2027 season starts Feb. 19.
Georgia Tech and Cincinnati both made the NCAA Tournament in 2026, and Georgia Tech was one of the nation’s best teams, earning the No. 2 national seed before being upset by eventual national champion Oklahoma in the Atlanta Regional. Cincinnati played in the Starkville Regional, hosted by Mississippi State.
This will be Tennessee’s second time since 2019 playing nonconference games in Florida. That year, the Vols played in the Cox Diamond Invitational in Pensacola.
Since then, the Vols have participated in multi-team nonconference events in Arlington, Texas (2026, 2024); Houston (2025, 2022); Phoenix (2023); and Round Rock, Texas (2021).
The 2027 season will be Josh Elander’s second as head coach. His first included a trip to Globe Life Park in Arlington for the Amegy Bank College Baseball Classic, where the Vols beat Arizona State and Virginia Tech but lost to UCLA. They finished with a 22-6 record against nonconference opponents.
Tennessee ended the 2026 season with a 38-22 record and was eliminated from the Chapel Hill Regional.
