Tennessee baseball infielder Ariel Antigua is entering the transfer portal ahead of his senior season, a team spokesperson confirmed to Knox News on June 1.
Antigua hit .200 this season, making 14 starts while primarily serving as a defensive replacement in the middle infield and backup for starting shortstop Manny Marin. His home run against Oakland on March 4 was the first and only of his Tennessee career.
He hit .199 in his career with 40 starts, posting a .945 fielding percentage.
Antigua, originally from Lake Worth, Florida, was a freshman on Tennessee's 2024 national championship team. He played in 40 games that season, hitting .217 after competing with Dean Curley for the starting shortstop role in the preseason before a hand injury. He appeared in two of three games against Texas A&M in the College World Series finals.
Antigua is the second Tennessee player to enter the portal this cycle after rising sophomore Ethan Moore did so earlier on June 1.
Moore redshirted as a freshman. He was ranked as the No. 94 overall prospect in the 2025 recruiting class by Perfect Game.
