The 126th U.S. Open will begin with the first round Thursday at Shinnecock Hills Golf Club in Southampton, New York. A fourth and final round will take place June 21.
The 156-player field will feature Tennessee golfers Jackson Herrington and Chase Kyes as amateurs. Former Vol Caleb Surratt will also compete in the U.S. Open.
Surratt will tee off Thursday in the first round at 6:57 a.m. EDT from hole No. 1. James Nicholas and Taylor Montgomery will also play in the former Vol’s group.
Herrington, along with Nathan Kimsey and Cooper Dossey, will tee off at 6:46 a.m. EDT from hole No. 10. Kyes’ first-round tee time is scheduled for 6:57 a.m. EDT and will be paired with Matthew Jordan and Alejandro Tosti from the first hole.
Herrington finished his sophomore season in 2026 and is from Dickson County High School in Dickson, Tennessee. Kyes was a freshman in 2026 and is from Spain Park High School in Hoover, Alabama.
Surratt played for the Vols from 2022-24. As a sophomore, he signed a professional contract to join Jon Rahm's LIV Golf team, Legion XIII, in Jan. 2024.
