Austin Hooper has decided to sign elsewhere over the New England Patriots in free agency.
According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, Hooper agreed to a one-year, $3.25 million deal with the Atlanta Falcons on Monday.
Hooper recorded 263 receiving yards, as well as two touchdowns in 2025. The 31-year-old tight end started in six of the 16 games that he played for New England last season. Hooper reached the Super Bowl in 2026 as a member of the Patriots in a losing effort. The Stanford product registered 739 yards and five touchdowns in his two seasons with New England from 2024-25.
The Falcons are slated to add Hooper to their tight end unit after placing the franchise tag on starter Kyle Pitts on February 24. The Patriots, meanwhile, have Hunter Henry on their roster as their starter for next season.
