Austin Hooper spent the first four seasons of his NFL career with the Atlanta Falcons, earning Pro Bowl nods during the 2018 and 2019 campaigns.
Following stints with the Cleveland Browns (2020-21), Tennessee Titans (2022) and Las Vegas Raiders (2023), Hooper played the last two years with the New England Patriots.
Now, the 31-year-old tight end is reportedly returning to the team that selected him in the third round of the 2016 NFL Draft.
"Reunion: The Falcons are signing TE Austin Hooper to a one-year, $3.25 million deal, per The Insiders," NFL insider Tom Pelissero posted on Bluesky. "Deal negotiated by Steve Caric of Wasserman NFL."
Hooper signed with the Patriots in March 2024 and tied for the team lead with three touchdown catches that season, adding 45 receptions for 476 yards.
The Stanford product's numbers dropped in 2025, as he finished the campaign with 21 receptions and career lows in targets (26) and receiving yards (263) with a pair of touchdown catches as well.
The Hooper news comes as New England has been linked to multiple free agent tight ends, including Chigoziem Okonkwo, who's spent his entire career with the Titans.
