More changes appear to be coming for the Jets' coaching staff.
According to multiple reports, the Jets and offensive coordinator Tanner Engstrand are parting ways after just one season. Adam Schefter of ESPN was first to report the move.
Parting ways with Engstrand is the most recent move head coach Aaron Glenn has made to his staff, which he has completely overhauled with seven changes -- including offensive and defensive coordinator -- and other assistants after the disastrous 2025 campaign.
Heading into 2026, the Jets will now have their 13th different offensive play caller over the last 16 years, according to Rich Cimini of ESPN.
Per Connor Hughes of SNY, the team was considering keeping Engstrand while reducing his responsibilities. The sides eventually decided it was best to separate.
In Glenn's first year as head coach, the Jets finished 3-14 and now hold the No. 2 overall pick in the upcoming 2026 NFL Draft.
As a unit, the Jets offense ranked 29th in the NFL with 17.6 points per game and yards per game with 263.6. Poor quarterback play was a major issue, as Brady Cook, Justin Fields and Tyrod Taylor each played games. The Jets easily finished last in the league with 140.3 passing yards per game.
Glenn and the Jets will now look to hire two new coordinators after Steve Wilks' firing midway through the season.
