We’re back today to get you caught up on the latest from Syracuse’s Olympic Sports as the spring sports calendar ramps up.
Women’s Rowing:
The Orange moved up to #9 in this week’s poll and despite being swept by #3 Yale at the Cayuga Cup, Syracuse took 2nd behind the Bulldogs, but a close loss in the V8 shows that this year’s Orange will be able to compete at a high level this season.
The Syracuse crews will compete next weekend at the Ivy Invite in Princeton, N.J.
Softball (12-16, 1-9):
Syracuse got their first ACC win of the season with a 9-6 victory in extra innings at Pitt. Madison Knight drove home the go-ahead run in the eighth inning in a game that featured three home runs by the Orange- including a grand slam from Kaimi Tulua

The Panthers came back to take the final two games winning 6-5 and then 5-4 in 8 innings. The Orange head to Boston College next weekend.
Track and Field:
The highlight of this weekend’s competition was a new Syracuse school record in the 10k. Peter Walsdorf ran a 28:14 to set his second school record of 2026.

At the Red Dragon Invite in Cortland, Syracuse had eight first-place finishes. Emeline Clark won both the women’s 100m hurdles and 400m hurdles, Esther Ganda was 1st in the 200m, Shayla Ford won the 400m and Luise Hiltzbleck took 1st in the women’s 1500. For the men, Isaiah Hayes won the 110m hurdles, Elijah Millard took 1st in the 400m hurdles and Omar Alsaidi won the 1500m run.
Syracuse will have athletes competing at Providence, Duke and Cornell next weekend.
Tennis (6-11, 2-8):
The Orange dropped both matches in Florida falling 4-0 to Miami and 4-2 at Florida State. Serafima Shastova and Emma Scaldalai earned the Syracuse victories against the Seminoles.
Syracuse will host Georgia Tech and Clemson next weekend.
