HOUSTON - Mark Francis Roberts has more than a game program as a souvenir of his trip to the Super Bowl. He also has an arrest record - and probably some bruises too.

The second-half kick off was delayed when police say Roberts streaked across the field. He was dressed as a referee, but stripped off the zebra stripes and started dancing at the 30-yard-line.

He was wearing just a G-string and shoes. Roberts didn't have much protect to him when he was leveled by New England linebacker Matt Chatham, as Roberts was running from security.

A Houston police spokeswoman says Roberts was arrested and charged with criminal trespass and public intoxication.

He's telling police he's from England and has streaked at other sporting events. But the folks back home didn't get to seem him. CBS didn't air the streaking incident.

Reminds me of the time Garth Jax leveled a guy who ran onto the field during a game.

This was cut out. Yet Jackson's boob was shown in 1 or 2 shots during the halftime show. ?????????

I don't get it. There is something amiss here and I don't like it. A company fed million dollar halftime show is allowed nudity and YES PEOPLE ALL telecast have some sort of delay in the signal so we could have blacked out the nudity. But the streaker gets cut from the program.

Why wasn't Jackson arrested for public nudity ?

Stupid double standards.

The game is not on delay. If you have satellite TV, there is a delay of about two seconds but the non satellite feeds are Live as Live can be.

They could not have "blacked" anything out. The director took a close shot and quickly cut away once he realized what was being shown.

People in radio and TV only use a delay in strange cases. We have never delayed a game broadcast. We sometimes delay our talk show because we get some foul calls from drunk idiots.

In the case of the streaker, they came back from break and were on a booth shot followed by a wide shot...a scenesetter of sorts. They wisely didn't take any other shots until the streaker was gone.

They did. In fact, they refused to show the Super Bowl entirely and let CBS do it instead.

I think you're too used to the whole "streaking phenomenon" due to your time spent following (and playing) rugby. This sort of thing is quite common place in the UK.

Roberts says that's just what this is all about -- fun. While the events of Sept. 11 might have scared some from such a security-breeching profession, Roberts says it's all the more reason to continue. Before he retires in 2005, two ultimate goals remain -- the Athens Olympics in 2004 and either Super Bowl XXXVIII or XXXIX.

Rugby, I thought I leaned ya better than this. Bending over in front of this group is one thing, but when you spread your cheeks------------------
