Okay.. if Ayton can stick that corner 3 with any kind of regularity, that’s a big addition to his game. It looks smooth.

Next offseason, gotta work in those handles/hands. If he can start taking people off the dribble as well? Nothing can stop him but himself.

We won because our bench did something. Cam and Payne were good. As was Saric. We’re easily a playoff team if the rotation is contributing.

we just beat a G-League team by 10. This team needs to show they can actually get to .500 before we’re easily anything in the West.

that said, they’ve definitely made progress this year. First time in forever we can say that!

The starters Rubio, Booker, Johnson, Bridges and Ayton look solid.

Add Saric, Payne and Carter off bench.

Then Baynes and Oubre and the Suns have the makings of a nice core next season.

Leander mentioned he will talk to Oubre in a future interview. Did anyone get the details?

Said they will talk to him before the Mavs game.

I think that means he's not playing for sure. The whole situation is weird.

Maybe the surgery was botched or him trying to do the recovery himself didn't go well. I don't know something is going on.

Appreciate that. I've mostly given up on Oubre playing in Orlando but it would be great to find out what is going on.

My concern is for Oubre's long term well being.

I hope/think we're trying to do right by him. Between his injury and Mikal's development, he's just not going to get the contract he desires in Phoenix and they've made that clear to him and have allowed his agent to pursue a deal. Maybe.

Monty was pleased with Ayton's poise in first half.

Good players let the game come to them and Ayton was rewarded.

Haha Ayton could have had two dunks to start the game but was soft again. Would have set the tone for the game for him and the suns.

Yup this is a game he should take over. But he doesn’t seem engaged in either end.
Whether Deandre is afraid of contact or just a finesse player at Center, it is
becoming clear that he is not the player to lead the Suns to the playoffs.

The Suns best approach should be to use him as a part of the team (he is
an above-average Center), but not a difference maker.

Maybe that is clear to you, but it isn't clear to me.

I still believe he will learn how to draw contact and be more aggressive.

It is sad that you have no tolerance for dissenting opinions.

There is nothing negative about observing that he is developing into a good Center,
but not a superstar Center. And that he is not the one to lead us to the playoffs.

Which is, in fact, a disappointment for the #1 pick.

If we see otherwise, that would be great! But we
are still waiting to see a consistent pattern.

That’s pretty funny considering your history!

While I think he can still be dominant, I don’t understand the bold. ZERO free throws again. Leopard. Spots.

Why should you be given tolerance? Your take was just awful. Especially after today’s game.

He’s following the same growth trajectory as other superstar bigs, such as Giannis. Sorry he isn’t Giannis today, but if you know anything about basketball it’s that bigs take longer to develop.

Your horrid take also infers that he’s a finished product. Dude’s 22 and hasn’t even been playing basketball for half of his life.

What’s funny is that every time someone asserts that he can’t do something, he does it. Can’t defend? He’s statistically one of the best rim protectors in the NBA and has added versatility to guard along the perimeter. Can’t hit outside jumpers? He’s putting that one to bed. The free throws attempts are an issue, but I highly doubt this is going to be the norm for him.

Im cool with nitpicking his game. It’s these sweeping generalizations people make that should have people’s internet connections permanently shut down.

If ayton is going to be able to hit 3s at a decent clip im really starting to like the idea of the sun's drafting okongwu to pair next to him for next year , probably have to move up to get him though

Didn’t Sarver of all people say he expected him to play? Seems like Kelly is focusing on being healthy going into a contract year. I don’t blame him.
