Interesting player. He is pretty solid inside 15 feet, but his outside jumper is rough.

Potentially has Aaron Gordon upside if everything goes well.

Some are liking the Koa Peat selection, especially for where he was selected.

Could Koa Peat be a Shawn Marion type player?

His shot was not that pretty either.

Different type of athlete. Koa is a good athlete but Shawn was a pogo stick and never got tired allowing him to play 2-3 positions.

Marion is setting the bar pretty high, I think Peat will need to be more of an interior player. He just needs to become a player you can't completely ignore on the perimeter.

Koa Peat's meaurements look solid as a power forward candidate.

Here are his measurements:

Watched some video, really like this pick now. He can score in the paint through contacts, with pump fakes, already better than any Suns player on the current roster. I can absolutely live with a poorman's Aaron Gordon or Anunoby.

Big fan of the pick. He does a ton of stuff well, he's really young, high upside, high motor, high floor I don't see how he isn't at least a rotation player.

If they can fix his shot (which he broke severely trying to fix it for the combine) this could be a huuuuuge steal.

I wasn't able to follow during the draft, I was at a bar trivia, but I asked someone else who was keeping tabs if Peat had been picked yet as it entered the mid 20s and was bummed when I was told Dallas got him, pumped it was actually us landing him in a trade.

He’s not near the athlete those two dudes are.

You guys watch him more than I do. He looks to be in constant motion. He has a herkey jerkey way of moving that reminds me of Joe Frazier or Mike Tyson rather than a basketball player. He can score inside which the Suns really need. He really moves well for his bulk. He seems to be a good passer; which is essential for this team. Maybe he can become a Draymond Green kind of player. He needs to shoot better to do that.

Every team thinks they got the steal of the draft. Sometimes it’s the boring picks that turn out well. I remember Dan Majerle and Steve Nash. Even Devin Booker. The point is, we’ll, who really knows?

IDK. I admit I did not watch ANY UofA basketball. I watched him at the NBA Combine. My first impression watching that shooting horrible performance at the combine was he was a SMALLER Oso. This was the one guy rumored to us I didn't want. There was a reason 29 other teams passed on him and he was taken by the Suns 30th. We may have been able to wait until the second round and just used our pick and cash to get this kid if we wanted to move up, which means he may be an overpay. I hope I am wrong in the tradition of booing Dan Majerle on draft night pick.

Peat will fix the shooting I have no doubt

Peat is a good athlete but I don’t think he has Aaron Gordon level athleticism.

Eh I think he was taken at the right slot due to his talent and upside. I doubt he would’ve made it to our pick. I just a difficult time getting excited about another undersized four lacking range on his shot who is also a rather pedestrian rebounder.

Per Gambo, the Suns believe they got the steal of the draft.

The Suns didn't understand how Koa Peat fell in the draft the way he did.

The Suns could’ve asked me and I would’ve told them why he fell and likely would’ve fallen even further had they not picked him at 30
