One of my friends was telling me about how his favorite team got Vince Carter and asked me if the Suns were making any moves. I told him that we are close to getting Channing Frye and he almost died laughing.

Steve Kerr deserves a mild case of swine flu followed by a fatal case of Ebola.

Didn't his favorite team win 13 more playoff games than the Suns last season?

This picture says it all for me. Amare blocking Channing Frye. We already have a guy, who we are thinking of trading, that's better than the guy we want to bring in. And the guy we have is bad at D, and he's blocking the guy we want to bring in. :(

I don't think anyone sees Frye as a replacement for Stoudemire. But while you're at it, you could probably also have found some video clips of Frye blowing by Stoudemire for easy scores.

We are lusting for names we have no need for. Frye will come here and fill a role as a backup big man. A damn good back up big man IMO.

Suns fans- We are not in the same arms race as these other teams like Orlando.

The Mavs have been recieveing a lot of plaudits for "doing everything they can" this offseason but I just think that focus is misguided. Are they really going to beat LA and SA? Hells no they aren't. ANd even if they do they will get thuped by 3-4 of the Easts best teams.

Now if they do all these things (marion, re-up Kidd, Gortat) and wind up getting Chris Bosh next year- well then I have to hand it to them. But IMO these small moves are actually hurting that possibility.

We will see. I don't want any name guys unless there is a definitive plan in place. And as Amare stated yesterday there isn't. But thats because first they have to see what they CAN get for a STAT.

Like Mao said. I hope Portlan goes for broke to get Nash (maybe Outlaw, Bayless and Pryzbilla for Nash and Lopez) and I would focus on Chicago or Atlanta if I was Kerr for Amare. Until that happens I don't WANT any ancillary moves that could kill our ability to get a guy next year.

Don't want Pryz, nor would Kerr/Griff. The Suns would want Batum and Rudy (but probably end up with Batum and Bayless) plus some expiring filler. At this point it wouldn't shock me to see Nash push for it too if the NYK can't make it work.

The issue is the the front office is terrified of handing over a top 3 pick in 2010 to the budding powerhouse in OKC so they're probably just going to tread water this year and watch Nash/Amare bolt for nothing.

Regarding Frye - we're getting him for $1.5 annually. He's a role player, that's it.

Well, there goes Frye. He supposedly agreed to terms with Cleveland today (according to ESPN Forums. Haven't seen it anywhere else). The Suns better go full force after Wilcox now.

Wilcox would be a much better fit in Phoenix than Frye. However, it doesn't seem to matter as the Suns are apparently going after the veteran minimum type. The leftovers.

Sounds eerily familiar to last year. We're paying you as little as we possibly can, but you get to play with Steve Nash, and uh...the weather's nice, and we may even make the playoffs!!! It worked well with Anthony Johnson and Tyron Lue, who despite being good friends with Shaq chose MILWAUKEE.
