Some of the best high school basketball prospects are in Rock Hill, South Carolina, as part of the NBPA Top 100 Camp. It features players from the 2027, 2028, and 2029 recruiting classes. Coaches were only allowed at the camp on June 10 and 11, with Auburn head coach Steven Pearl among them, according to Joe Tipton of On3 and Rivals. According to Tipton, Pearl watched five-star point guard Beckham Black and four-star center Lewis Uvwo.
According to 247Sports composite, Black is the No. 4 prospect in the 2027 recruiting cycle. He is also rated as the No. 1 overall point guard and the No. 2 player in Florida. He currently attends Southeastern Prep in Orlando, Florida, and is the younger brother of former Arkansas guard Anthony Black. He was drafted by the Orlando Magic in the first round of the 2023 NBA Draft by the Orlando Magic. Beckham Black currently has a strong interest in Arkansas, Kentucky, Texas, USC, and Georgetown. Auburn could require a point guard in the future, with Tahaad Pettiford entering the third year of his college career.
Uvwo is another top prospect in Florida, where he plays for Prolific Prep in Fort Lauderdale. He is rated as the No. 27 player according to the 247Sports composite in the 2027 recruiting class. Uvwo is also rated as the No. 4 center and the No. 6 player in Florida. He was one of the standouts at the camp so far, along with Black. Auburn made a strong effort after last season to improve its frontcourt, but it could need some more talent around the rim in the future. The Tigers do not have any commitments for the 2027 class but have offered Black.
