With only 13 seconds on the clock and the Houston Rockets trailing by one point, Ime Udoka, Alperen Sengun and the Rockets made the decision to go at Draymond Green. With the game on the line, Sengun drove one-on-one against Green before throwing up a contest shot that clanked off the rim and into the hands of Jimmy Butler on a game-sealing rebound.
Following Green's tough defensive stop, Steve Kerr had high praise for Golden State's defensive anchor. The Warriors' head coach called Green "the best defender he's ever seen in his life."
During his time on the floor, Kerr played alongside high-caliber defensive players like Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen, Tim Duncan, Dennis Rodman, David Robinson, Rasheed Wallace and others. Despite a decorated resume of former teammates, Green is the best defensive player he's ever seen play, according to Kerr.
Green finished third in Defensive Player of the Year voting for the 2024-25 season. Green won the award in 2017, along with being named to the NBA's all-defensive team eight times.
To close out the Rockets in the first round, the Warriors will need Green to continue defending at this level in Game 5 on Wednesday in Houston.

He's the best defender I've ever seen in my life. He rises to the occasion. On top of being a great defender, he's an incredible competitor. We've seen it, I've seen it for 11-years, game on the line, Dryamond making a stop — it's like having Steph Curry make the shot.
