The Golden State Warriors held on for a thrilling 109–106 Game 4 victory over the Houston Rockets on Monday night, taking a commanding 3–1 series lead.
But the win didn’t come without controversy—tensions ran high throughout the game, particularly between Draymond Green and Dillon Brooks.
Both Green and Stephen Curry were hit with technical fouls during the game, as were Brooks, Tari Eason, and Jalen Green for a brief on-court altercation. Despite the drama, it was Green who came up big in the final moments with a critical defensive stand to help secure the win for Golden State.
After the game, Warriors head coach Steve Kerr made headlines with a bold statement, calling Green “the best defensive player I’ve ever seen in my life.”
The remark drew immediate backlash, as Kerr notably played alongside defensive legends like Dennis Rodman, Scottie Pippen, and Michael Jordan during the Chicago Bulls' dynasty years.
"That is blasphemy coming from Steve Kerr. Draymond Green is not a better defender than Dennis Rodman," a fan said.
"He played with MJ and Scottie who have double the all defensive first teams," another fan posted.
"That man played with MJ, Scottie and Rodman and is telling straight lies to the media," someone else added.
One more fan commented, "Man played with Ron Harper, Scottie Pippen, Dennis Rodman, Bruce Bowen, and was in the league with Hakeem and Coop my my my"

Green has certainly earned the respect to be mentioned among the all-time greats on defense. He’s an eight-time All-Defensive Team selection, won Defensive Player of the Year in 2016–17, and most recently took home the NBA Hustle Award this season.
However, Dennis Rodman was also an eight-time All-Defensive Team selection and a two-time Defensive Player of the Year. Scottie Pippen earned 10 All-Defensive Team honors, while Michael Jordan landed on nine and won Defensive Player of the Year once, also leading the league in steals three times.
