Jaylen Brown and ESPN's Stephen A. Smith appear to be in a bit of a feud after Smith criticized Brown's comments about this season being his favorite, despite the Celtics' first-round playoff loss to the 76ers.

"He needs to be quiet ... unless you're trying to get traded," Smith said Thursday about Brown on ESPN's "First Take".

Brown responded sharply to Smith's remarks, even suggesting that Smith consider stepping away from broadcasting altogether.

I’ll “be quiet” / stop streaming if you “be quiet” and retire, let’s give the people what they want," Brown wrote on X.

It didn’t take long for Smith to respond to Brown's comments, but he has nothing but respect for the star guard.

"Bro, I got love for you so I’m not going to even go there, Smith wrote Thursday on X. "Folks are looking out for you and you don’t even realize it. Here you are making this kind of noise and it hasn’t even been a week since you lost a 3-1 lead. You’re HOME. A champion and a Finals MVP saying his favorite season is the season he’s home in the FIRST ROUND. This is not about ME. It’s about YOU….and what YOU SAID. Enjoy your offseason."

Everyone seems to be focused on Brown lately, especially after he hosted a few live streams on his channel in recent days. During these streams, he discussed his recent loss to the 76ers and reflected on his season. Some of Brown’s remarks, like calling this his favorite season and claiming that Joel Embiid was flopping in their recent matchup, have drawn even more attention and criticism toward him.
