Stefon Diggs remains unsigned, but he clearly does not view himself as a player who should be measured against the bottom half of any wide receiver depth chart.

The free-agent wide receiver said in a video posted to his YouTube channel that there is not a No. 2 wide receiver in the NFL better than him, arguing that even if teams identify their top receivers first, his résumé and production still compare favorably with the next group. “My opinion, I can compete with anybody,” Diggs said. “But take those [top wide receivers] as your 1s, right? You can’t name a No. 2 better than me.” ESPN reported Diggs made the remarks while discussing his place in the current receiver market.

That claim matters in Baltimore because the Ravens already know Zay Flowers is Lamar Jackson’s top wide receiver. The question is what happens behind him. Rashod Bateman remains the projected No. 2 option. At the same time, Devontez Walker, LaJohntay Wester, Ja’Kobi Lane, and Elijah Sarratt enter training camp trying to prove Baltimore has enough answers in the passing game.

Diggs, 32, became a free agent after New England released him in March. ESPN reported he led the Patriots with 85 receptions for 1,013 yards and four touchdowns during the 2025 regular season, then added 14 catches for 110 yards and a touchdown during their Super Bowl run. The NFL also closed its personal conduct review last month after determining there was insufficient evidence of a policy violation, according to CBS Sports.

None of that automatically makes Diggs a Ravens target. Baltimore has invested in younger receivers and has major roles to sort out before considering another veteran addition. Still, his point applies. Championship offenses need someone beyond the No. 1 receiver to win when coverage tilts toward the top option.

For the Ravens, that means Bateman and the young receivers must answer quickly. Diggs’ claim may be about himself, but it also frames Baltimore’s biggest wide receiver question entering camp.
