The Pittsburgh Steelers have signed a veteran cornerback to their active roster in order to address several injury concerns ahead of the Week 17 matchup against the Cleveland Browns.

On Thursday, the Steelers announced the signing of 30-year-old cornerback Tre Flowers, an underrated acquisition with cornerbacks James Pierre (calf) and Brandin Echols (groin) dealing with injuries this late in the season.

Selected by the Seahawks with the 146th overall pick in the fifth round of the 2018 NFL Draft, Flowers played almost four seasons for Seattle before he was ultimately waived, being claimed by the Cincinnati Bengals soon after.

He has appeared in 97 games, with 44 of those coming as starts, for the Seahawks, Bengals, Atlanta Falcons, Jacksonville Jaguars, Indianapolis Colts, and most recently the Detroit Lions.
