The Pittsburgh Steelers are going all in on Aaron Rodgers' final season in 2026, spending big on both offense and defense to give themselves the best shot at competing for a Super Bowl.
From now until the start of the regular season, we at Steelers Wire will be analyzing every player on the roster. Here's a look at Aaron Rodgers and what could be in store for his 2026 season.
After an 18-year stint with the Green Bay Packers and two years with the New York Jets, Rodgers joined the Steelers in June 2025 on a one-year deal. In his debut season with Pittsburgh, Rodgers threw for 3,322 yards and 24 touchdowns in 16 games.
With Rodgers at quarterback, the Steelers went 10-6 and won the AFC North divisional title. But Rodgers' 2025 season in Pittsburgh goes beyond stats and win-loss records. He brought solidarity to the quarterback room for the first time since Ben Roethlisberger, while also mentoring Will Howard to eventually take the reins.
Mike Tomlin stepped down, and Mike McCarthy stepped up, reuniting with Rodgers and an offensive system the veteran quarterback knows all too well. Rodgers proved in 2025 that age was just a number. In 2026, Rodgers has a talented cast of playmakers at his disposal, along with a competent, offensive-minded head coach calling plays. The sky is the limit for what's shaping up to be Rodgers' last run as an NFL quarterback.
