The Pittsburgh Steelers made one of the most slept-on Day 3 picks in the entire 2026 NFL Draft — and we're not talking about Eli Heidenreich. It's none other than fourth-round rookie Kaden Wetjen, one of college football's most terrifying return specialists.

From now until the start of the regular season, we at Steelers Wire will be analyzing every player on the roster. Here's a look at Wetjen and what could be in store for his 2026 season.

Career with the Steelers​

Wetjen, who won the Jet Award (college football's best return specialist) in back-to-back seasons, was selected by the Steelers with the 121st overall pick in the fourth round of the 2026 NFL Draft.

What's next in 2026?​

While fans shouldn't expect Wetjen to contribute much as a wide receiver during his rookie season, the terrifying return specialist could still take the NFL by storm in 2026. Wetjen recorded an astonishing average of 26.8 yards per punt return while scoring four touchdowns on just 37 return attempts in 2025. If the Steelers can help him adjust to NFL speed, Wetjen could very well earn All-Pro recognition as a rookie.
