The Pittsburgh Steelers are releasing wide receiver Colton Dowell, per the NFL transaction wire.
The Steelers claimed Dowell late last week, but did not partake in the Steelers’ Saturday night practice, per Alan Saunders.
Dowell last appeared in a regular season game in 2023 with the Tennessee Titans. The Steelers claimed him off waivers after he was waived by the San Francisco 49ers. The Steelers released wide receiver A.T. Perry in correspondence with the move to sign Dowell.
Pittsburgh will return to the practice field on Monday as they gear up for their preseason opener this Thursday against the Green Bay Packers.
