As fans of the Pittsburgh Steelers eagerly await answers regarding the future of the team’s quarterback position, the finish line for the Aaron Rodgers waiting game may be in sight.

According to a new report from Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, the Steelers expect Aaron Rodgers to make his decision for the 2026 season before the upcoming NFL Draft, which is less than a month away.

"I still expect that," team owner/president Art Rooney II told the Post-Gazette. "I expect we’ll get an answer before the draft."

In 2025, Rodgers took until June to make his decision to join the Steelers, and it appeared the 42-year-old veteran quarterback was once again looking at another summer timeline this year.

If Rodgers decides against returning to the Steelers, there are plenty of quarterback options to consider from the 2026 NFL Draft, such as Ty Simpson of Alabama, who's projected to be selected in the first round.
