Once the Pittsburgh Steelers' 2025 season ends, which could happen as soon as Monday night, the team will turn its attention to the offseason.
When it comes to their pending free agents, one of the most notable is guard Isaac Seumalo, who Spotrac projects will receive a $27 million contract in free agency.
Whether that contract comes from the Steelers or another team remains to be seen, but one way or the other Seumalo should do well this offseason given the need for guards around the NFL.
One team that could have interest in Seumalo aside from the Steelers is the Los Angeles Chargers, who ESPN's Ben Solak predicts will sign the veteran guard.
"The Chargers will blow their free agency budget on Steelers guard Isaac Seumalo. Despite turning 33 next season, he is still playing at a high level. Seumalo ranked second among all guards with a 96.9% pass block win rate this season," he said.
The Chargers should be all in on the offensive line this offseason after a putrid showing from the unit in 2025.
Granted, a lot of that had to do with the injuries to Joe Alt and Rashawn Slater, but the Chargers could also use upgrades on the interior.
There is no doubt Seumalo is a top-notch guard, as evidenced by his Pro Football Focus grades of 78.5 in pass-blocking and 68.3 in run-blocking, which ranked fourth and 25th among guards, respectively.
But there are also concerns with the veteran, who is set to turn 33 in October and has had some injury issues during his career that won't get any better the older he gets.
The injury issues will be of particular concern for the Chargers after what they experienced in 2025.
However, given how desperate the Chargers will be to upgrade their offensive line to help keep Justin Herbert upright and healthy, we fully expect Los Angeles to make a play for Seumalo if he doesn't return to Pittsburgh.
