Pittsburgh Steelers offensive coordinator Arthur Smith recently had an interview for the same position with the Detroit Lions.

Smith didn’t land the gig for Dan Campbell’s team but completed another interview for an offensive coordinator vacancy on Monday.

“we’ve completed an interview with Arthur Smith for offensive coordinator,” the Los Angeles Chargers official account posted on X.

Smith is also among the candidates for the head coaching jobs with the Arizona Cardinals and Tennessee Titans.

The 43-year-old just finished his second season as the Steelers offensive coordinator and was the head coach of the Atlanta Falcons for three years from 2021 to 2023, finishing 7-10 in each campaign. Smith also served as the Titans offensive coordinator in 2019 and 2020.

He faces plenty of competition for the Chargers gig, as Los Angeles has also interviewed or scheduled interviews with their passing game coordinator Marcus Brady and quarterbacks coach Shane Day, as well as New England Patriots passing game coordinator Thomas Brown, former Tennessee head coach Brian Callahan, former New York Giants head coach Brian Daboll and former Miami Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel.
