The 2026 Pro Football Hall of Fame class was announced at NFL Honors Thursday night, and Steelers great L.C. Greenwood was once again left out of Canton.
The final class was made of quarterback Drew Brees, wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald, kicker Adam Vinatieri, linebacker Luke Kuechly, and running back Roger Craig. Craig was one of three senior finalists alongside quarterback Ken Anderson and Greenwood.
Greenwood remains a strong candidate in future Hall of Fame classes: He was a key member of the Steelers’ legendary Steel Curtain defense with 78 career sacks, six Pro Bowls, two All-Pros, and four Super Bowl victories. He was also named a member of the Hall of Fame’s own all-1970s team.
Greenwood died in 2013 at age 67.
Also missing the 2026 Hall of Fame class was former Saints guard and new Steelers assistant offensive line coach Jahri Evans, who was a finalist in the modern category.
