The Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of 2026 was announced at NFL Honors on Thursday, with Pittsburgh Steelers legend L.C. Greenwood noticeably excluded.

Greenwood, who was named a Hall of Fame finalist for the first time in his almost 40 years of eligibility, was snubbed from the 2026 class, despite being one of the most deserving senior candidates.

Sad for Steelers fans: L.C. Greenwood failed to gain election and join his other five teammates from the famed Steel Curtain defense already in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

A four-time Super Bowl champion, a two-time First-Team All-Pro, a six-time Pro Bowler, with 78 (unofficial) career sacks, a member of the NFL’s 1970s All-Decade Team, and a member of the Pittsburgh Steelers All-Time Team — the list of accolades goes on and on, but it strangely wasn’t enough for the voting committee.

Greenwood passed away in 2013, but his legacy lives on, more than deserving of a spot among the greatest to ever play the game we all know and love.
