Free agency is less than a month away, and the Pittsburgh Steelers have plenty of positions to address, such as wide receiver.
Currently on the roster, the Steelers have DK Metcalf and Roman Wilson as their top two wideouts, but Deebo Samuel of the Washington Commanders would make a fantastic addition to Pittsburgh's new-look offense under head coach Mike McCarthy.
Samuel was one of the lone bright spots on an otherwise bleak Commanders offense last season. Playing opposite Metcalf with Aaron Rodgers potentially at quarterback, along with an above-average offensive line and competent offensive playcaller in McCarthy, Samuel would at worst serve as Pittsburgh's much-needed WR2, and at best rekindle some of the former glory of days with San Francisco.
To predict Samuel's potential 2026 contract, we at Steelers Wire looked at his $17.5 million deal in 2025 with the Commanders and projected a slightly lower annual salary of around $15 million, given his 30 years of age and average statistical output in 2025 compared to past seasons.
