The ever-talented but oft-injured Steelers CB Cory Trice has provided an injury update return date — and it's just around the corner.

On Saturday, Trice addressed his hamstring injury with reporters and claimed he's ahead of schedule in his recovery process, en route to a Week 1 return in the Steelers’ regular season opener versus the New York Jets (via Penn Live's Nick Farabaugh).

Cory Trice said that he is 'ahead of schedule' on his hamstring injury, and the goal is to be ready for Week 1. He thinks he will get to 100% in time for that.

Trice was also spotted working out alongside CB Beanie Bishop, who also received an injury update from Mike Tomlin on Saturday.

Selected by Pittsburgh with the 241st pick in the seventh round of the 2023 NFL Draft, many hoped Trice could become a future starter on the Steelers’ defense — but despite flashes of greatness, injuries have derailed the early part of his Steel City tenure.

Trice may face an uphill battle to survive cutdown day on August 26, as some suspect his availability concerns over the past two years make it difficult to justify a spot on the 53-man roster.
