A new report indicates the Pittsburgh Steelers are close to finding their next offensive coordinator, as HC Mike McCarthy continues to add the final pieces to his new coaching staff.

According to well-respected insider Mark Kaboly, the Steelers and Minnesota Vikings passing game coordinator/tight ends coach Brian Angelichio are “close to agreeing on a deal” to hire him as Pittsburgh’s next OC.

SOURCE: Minnesota Vikings passing game coordinator/tight ends coach Brian Angelichio is close to agreeing on a deal that would make him the offensive coordinator of the Pittsburgh Steelers.

It could be official as early as Wednesday.

Angelichio previously held the role of tight ends coach for multiple teams within the NFL, including the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2012-2013), Cleveland Browns (2014-2015), Green Bay Packers (2016-2018), Washington Commanders (2019), Carolina Panthers (2020-2021), and most recently the Vikings.

The Steelers were running out of offensive coordinator options after New Orleans Saints quarterbacks coach Scott Tolzien seemingly took himself off the market, but Angelichio presents Pittsburgh with a respectable replacement as the new Black and Gold coaching staff takes shape.
