Dallas Stars forward Jason Robertson made a positive assessment after losing 6-4 to the New Jersey Devils on Tuesday.

Robertson, 26, believes the four-game road trip they will begin on Thursday, when visiting the New York Islanders, is a good way to reset.

"When you go on the road like this one, I think it's just a good reset, getting on the road, back on the road against some teams that we're not really familiar with. It's fun. It's exciting. The guys should be excited and try to get on a run starting on Thursday," Robertson said in his media duties after the game against the Devils.

The Arcadia, California native, pointed out that despite the loss, there are some aspects of the game that Dallas should be proud of.

"We definitely did some things we could be proud of today, but I mean, ultimately, when you go on four, or sorry, three early, it's hard to come back from," he said.

Robertson calls Wyatt Johnston 'critical part' of Stars' power play​

When asked what he considered to be the key to their rush offense getting behind them against New Jersey, he said, "I don't know. I can rewatch it, but I mean, they're fast. I mean, they're a fast team, play fast breaks, everything."

"So I think it's the first time in a while that we've gotten stung like this multiple times. Hopefully we've learned from it."

Robertson was also asked about Wyatt Johnston's performance on the power play. The winger did not hesitate to praise his teammate, noting that the 22-year-old will be important to Dallas in the playoffs.

"I think the thing with Johnny is it's not just from one area. It's all over the ice. So, he just finds a way to get open and get a shot off, even though it was a lucky break. I mean, right place at the right time. He's a critical part of our power play. It's been like that all season long. And it's gonna be important leading up to the playoffs."
