The Los Angeles Rams seem to be overwhelming odds-on favorites to win the Super Bowl, along with the defending Super Bowl champs, the Seattle Seahawks, and the Buffalo Bills hot on their heels.
There are numerous factors why the Rams are the favorites. First, let's start with quarterback Matthew Stafford. The NFL MVP is coming off one of his best seasons as a pro.
Stafford threw for over 4700 yards and 46 touchdowns. The team just fell short of making the Super Bowl, losing the NFC Championship Game to the Seahawks. When Stafford is healthy, he has proven to be the best QB in the league.
Returning with Stafford is wide receiver Puka Nacua. Nacua was Stafford's go-to guy last year, amassing over 1700 yards receiving and 10 touchdowns. The Rams offense will be hard to stop again this year if they can stay healthy.
The biggest reason for this much optimism is the acquisition of NFL Defensive Player of the Year Myles Garrett from the Cleveland Browns. Garrett will make a good Rams defense into maybe a great one.
He, along with the possibility of All-Pro Aaron Donald returning, makes this team scary. Donald, however, has not announced whether he will be returning, but he does seem to be seriously considering it.
Either way, if the Rams can stay healthy this season, there is no reason not to think they can hoist another Super Bowl trophy.
